The Internal Battles of Mars

The next several days and weeks are big for Mars energy. There are two big aspects for Mars that on the surface may seem mundane. However, after sitting with the aspects, and experiencing a purifying shift (not in a nice way) in my own Mars energy, there is an intense INTERNAL war going on beneath the surface of Mars energy.
There are two internal battles Mars is involved with that I would like to dive deep into with you today:
The first is, Mars (Cancer) square Jupiter/NN(Pisces)/Mercury Retrograde(Aries).
The second is Mars (Cancer/Gemini cusp) opposes Pluto (Sagittarius/Capricorn cusp).
For context, Mars attains enlightenment through inspired action in service to spirit or the higher self. Unlike mercury who is knowledge transfer, thinking and expression, Mars does not like to think. Unlike Jupiter, who is moved by faith and belief, Mars is moved by the will.
In a square with Jupiter and Mercury conjunct the North Node, the will of Mars is testing the faith (Jupiter) and information (Mercury) of his highest calling (nn). This is done by either unnecessary actions or misaligned inaction.
Mars has just entered into the constellation of Cancer so he may be in a state of inaction, or passive aggression. Mercury is retrograde in Aries, offering Mars an opportunity to go inward and listen to the higher self. Jupiter and the NN are on the cusp of Pisces, offering and abundance of spiritual depth and purpose to Mars.
Pluto attains enlightenment through purification. On the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn Pluto brings the earth and fire energies. Fire is very fast in its purification. Fire burns everything down to start fresh. Earth purification is the slowest, but it’s the heaviest and it is crushing. Think of burning rock, lava or magma as Pluto’s preferred method of purification on the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn.
Mars on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer. These are both very difficult signs for mars to ACT in service to spirit, because he is being asked to go inward. Indeed, even Pluto in retrograde is demanding an inward approach to Mars action. Mars is bringing the elements of Air and Water. The actions of air and water are quick and if resisted can be very destructive.
I see these balanced forces of the elements purifying purpose for Mars energy. He is being twisted, crushed, burned and wrung out! He is reigniting his own internal fire creating a volcanic island in the middle of the ocean, perhaps even during a hurricane. The result is a fertile tropical island ripe for creation and manifestation.
Be kind to your Mars energy this week and next week as mars takes on a mystic square with the nodes and retrograde Pluto. This purification is intense and internal for Mars and it’s very powerful!
